Executive Director - Healthy Climate New Mexico

 

Location: Remote within New Mexico (with regular in-state travel)
Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000 with annual performance-based bonus depending on fundraising benchmarks
Application Deadline: Priority decision by Oct 15, 2025 or until position is filled

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree in public health, healthcare, nonprofit management, or related field preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit management, including budgeting and fundraising

  • Proven success in securing funding from grants, donors, and foundations

  • Strong knowledge of public health and healthcare systems

  • Experience with policy advocacy and legislative engagement

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)

  • Deep personal and/or professional connections with New Mexico and knowledge of New Mexico communities, cultures and traditions

  • New Mexico residency (or willingness to relocate) and ability to travel frequently in-state

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

 

Preferred 

  • Background in climate, healthcare, or public health policy

  • Familiarity with New Mexico’s political and healthcare landscape

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Experience with membership-based organizations or coalitions
