Big Tech
Unchecked
Communities across New Mexico are increasingly being asked to host hyperscale data center projects. While these developments are often promoted for their potential to generate local investment and jobs, their potential environmental health impacts warrant careful evaluation. These concerns are particularly significant in New Mexico, where communities already face challenges related to water scarcity, air quality, grid instability, limited infrastructure, and related health disparities.
Big Tech Unchecked is a collaborative effort between several community-based organizations committed to uplifting the voices of New Mexicans’ who are standing on the frontlines in the fight for their right to transparency and accountability in hypserscale data center development.
